About Playa de Punta Candor
Punta Candor is a long beach of golden sand on the Atlantic coast of Rota, Cádiz, west of the town, backed by dunes and pine woods that are home to the protected chameleon. FEN lists a 1.5 km stretch with moderate surf, medium use, a lifeguard and showers. It is a well-equipped beach with toilets, showers, seasonal kiosks and sunbed rental, and it is one of the few in the area where dogs and fishing are allowed. Walkways cross the dunes from the car park. FEN lists it as nudist-tradition; we found no other source describing nude use. Note: the Spanish Naturist Federation is the only source we found that reports nude bathing here, and other guides do not mention it. Nude use may be occasional or limited to the quieter end, so expect most visitors to be clothed and check on arrival.
Getting there
Off the A-491 west of Rota; a large unsupervised car park (over 100 spaces, paid in summer) lies behind the dunes, with a motorhome area next to it. Walkways lead across the dunes to the sand.
