About Playa de Pestaña
Pestaña is a small, steep-sided beach on the coast of Llanes in eastern Asturias, near the village of Naves, lying between the beaches of Portaquinos (San Antolín) and Portacos and immediately next to the well-known naturist beach of Torimbia. It is about 100 m long and 50 m deep, a mix of white sand and rock under high cliffs with striking views, and it faces open sea, so waves are strong and currents can form. There are no facilities and the path down is difficult, which keeps numbers moderate. Spain's national tourism board describes it, like Torimbia, as a nudist beach, adding that swimsuits are also fine, so expect a mixed but relaxed crowd.
Getting there
Pestaña is reached on foot only, by a steep, difficult path down the cliffs near Naves, off the N-634 west of Llanes; park considerately in the area above. There is no public transport to the beach and it is unsuitable for wheelchairs or anyone with limited mobility.
Legal context
Spanish law does not make simple nudity an offence (public-scandal offences were removed in 1988), so nude bathing is not illegal on Spanish beaches unless a municipal bylaw restricts it. Turespaña's spain.info listing describes Pestaña as nudist (checked 2026); no Llanes bylaw restricting nudity was found. One beach guide (InSpain) marks it as not nudist, so practice may vary.
Naturism at Playa de Pestaña sits under Spain's rules for officially designated nude beaches — explicit protection inside the marked area.

Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
