About Playa de Los Martos
Los Martos is one of the long, open beaches that line the protected dune field of Corralejo in the north-east of Fuerteventura, in the municipality of La Oliva. The sand is golden and fine, and the beach runs for roughly 900 m with an unusually generous width of around 75 m, the dunes rolling inland behind it rather than ending in a road or promenade. There is no development on the beach itself, no lifeguard and no showers, so you need to bring water and shade. Visitor numbers are low compared with the hotel beaches nearer Corralejo town, and the strip is listed by the Spanish Naturist Federation as a beach of nudist tradition; the national tourism portal also notes that nudism is practised here. In practice nude bathers spread out along the beach and shelter in hollows among the dunes, sharing the sand with some clothed walkers and kitesurfers. The trade wind blows most days and the swell is moderate, so the water can be choppy. Views stretch across to the islet of Lobos and, on clear days, Lanzarote.
Getting there
The beach sits beside the FV-1 road that crosses the Parque Natural de las Dunas de Corralejo between Corralejo and Puerto del Rosario. There is no formal car park: drivers pull onto sandy lay-bys along the road and walk a few minutes across the dunes to the shore. Local buses between Corralejo and Puerto del Rosario use the FV-1, but stops are spaced out, so a car or bike is easier. The walk over soft sand is short but not suitable for wheelchairs.
Amenities
Legal context
Spain has no national ban on public nudity and Los Martos's nude use rests on long custom recognised by the Spanish Naturist Federation, not on a municipal designation. The beach lies within a protected natural park, so park rules on vehicles, camping and dune damage apply. No recent bans or enforcement against nudity were found (2026).
Naturism at Playa de Los Martos sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
