About Playa de Los Frailes
Los Frailes is a tiny cove on the Jaizkibel side of Hondarribia, on the coast road between the fishing port and the Higer lighthouse at the mouth of the Bidasoa, close to the French border. FEN gives it as about 60 m of boulders, rocks and dark sand, with strong swell and wind. Its isolated position among vegetation and rocks means it never gets busy, and naturism is practised here as a matter of course. Kapelaundi, another cove nearby, is also used by nudists. There are no services on the beach itself, but a campsite and a restaurant are close by.
Getting there
Follow the Higer Bidea road from Hondarribia port toward the lighthouse; there is plenty of roadside parking along it. A path leads down from the road to the cove. In 2015 Spain's coastal authority rebuilt the steps and added a rope handrail because the old descent was difficult and dangerous; it remains steep and is not suitable for limited mobility. The port is about 1 km away.

Legal context
Spain has no national law against nudity in public. Naturism at Los Frailes is customary and the beach is listed by the Spanish Naturist Federation; we found no Hondarribia ordinance on nudity.
Naturism at Playa de Los Frailes sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
