About Playa de Los Curas

El Portiellu, also called Playa de los Curas, is a small cove on the coast of Llanes in eastern Asturias, between Toró beach and the village of Cué. It is about 100 m of white sand and rock, with moderate surf, sheltered and intimate, and was long a quiet nude beach. There are no toilets or other facilities. Storm damage has destroyed the usual way down. FEN keeps it on its list in the hope that the coastal authority repairs the access, which users and the town council have requested.

Getting there

The path down from Cué has been wrecked by storms and is not usable (FEN, current listing). The only way in is along the rocky shore from Toró beach at low tide, with a real risk of being cut off when the tide rises. Check tide times and allow plenty of margin, or do not go. Park at Toró, just east of Llanes.

Legal context

Spain has no national law against public nudity. El Portiellu is a FEN nudist-tradition beach; the issue here is access, not legality (checked 2026).

Naturism at Playa de Los Curas sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.

Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
