About Playa de las Mujeres
Playa de las Mujeres is a beach on the south coast of Gran Canaria in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, west of the Maspalomas resort area. The Spanish Naturist Federation lists it among the island's beaches with a tradition of nude use, describing a shore about 520 m long and 25 m wide made of boulders, gravel and dark sand, with moderate swell. FEN classes the setting as urban and the beach as busy, with no lifeguard or showers. No other source describing nude use here was found, so expect a mixed crowd; the better-known nude spots on this stretch of coast are Montaña Arena and Las Carpinteras. Note: the Spanish Naturist Federation is the only source we found that reports nude bathing here, and other guides do not mention it. Nude use may be occasional or limited to the quieter end, so expect most visitors to be clothed and check on arrival.
Getting there
The beach lies off the GC-500 coast road west of Maspalomas. There is roadside parking nearby. The shore is stony, so beach shoes help, and there are no facilities on the beach.
Legal context
Public nudity is not an offence under Spanish national law, and the Spanish Naturist Federation lists this beach as one with a tradition of nude use. No local ban on nudity here is known (2026).
Naturism at Playa de las Mujeres sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
