About Playa de la Tejita
La Tejita is a long natural beach on Tenerife's south coast in Granadilla de Abona, between El Médano and Los Abrigos, at the foot of the Montaña Roja nature reserve. The sand is fine and dark-golden, about 1 km long, with moderate waves and the near-constant wind of this coast. No buildings stand right on the beach. Nude bathing is concentrated at the end nearest Montaña Roja, where the beach curves under the red volcanic cone; nudity there has been accepted for decades. The rest of the beach is mixed. A lifeguard covers part of the beach in season, but otherwise services are limited. The views of Montaña Roja and the coast toward El Médano are among the best in southern Tenerife.
Getting there
Driving is not allowed inside the reserve. Park in the free car parks (over 100 spaces, full on summer weekends) or along the TF-643 El Médano–Los Abrigos road, then walk 5–10 minutes along the marked sandy path to the beach and on toward Montaña Roja for the nude section. TITSA buses 410, 470 and 483 stop at La Tejita, about 10–15 minutes' walk from the sand. Keep to the marked paths, as the reserve is protected.
What visitors say
Visitors describe La Tejita as one of the nicest natural beaches in south Tenerife, with the nude section by Montaña Roja relaxed and unbothered. The wind is the most common complaint, and many people bring windbreaks. Parking is easy except on summer weekends, and people warn there are few services, so bring supplies.

Legal context
Spain has no national law against nudity in public. At La Tejita, nude bathing at the Montaña Roja end has been accepted for decades and is listed by the Spanish Naturist Federation; one guide calls the nude area official, but we found no municipal document. The beach is in a protected nature reserve.
Naturism at Playa de la Tejita sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
