About Playa de la Guancha

La Guancha is a tiny rocky beach on the north-west coast of Gran Canaria in Gáldar, in an unspoilt stretch of coast with big black cliffs. FEN gives it as only about 25 m long and 3 m wide, made of rock, with strong waves and few visitors. Spain.info describes it as a small nudist beach. It is less a beach than a sunbathing spot on the rocks, and its main draw is privacy. The coast here is windy and exposed, and swimming is only possible on calm days and with care. There are no services. The nearest port, Puerto de las Nieves in Agaete, is about 10 km away.

Getting there

La Guancha lies on the coast north-west of the town of Gáldar. Tourism listings describe access on foot as easy from the nearest road, but the last stretch is over rock, so wear sturdy shoes. There is no public transport to the spot itself and no adapted access.

Legal context

Spain has no national law against nudity in public. La Guancha is described as a nudist spot by Spain.info and FEN; we found no local ordinance.

Naturism at Playa de la Guancha sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
