About Playa de La Gola
Brac del Port, better known by the name La Gola and sometimes called Tamarit beach, is a natural beach in Santa Pola on the Costa Blanca, stretching about 2 km south of the town towards the mouth of the Vinalopó. It runs alongside the Salinas de Santa Pola natural park, a salt-pan wetland known for its flamingos and other waterbirds, and no buildings stand directly behind it. Low dunes with vegetation back the sand, smaller than the high dunes of El Pinet further south. FEN lists the sand as dark, waves as moderate and use as medium. Nude bathing is a long tradition here. FEN recommends the central part of the beach, where the water is clearest. There are no lifeguards, showers or other services.
Getting there
La Gola is reached on foot only. From Santa Pola, follow the N-332 coast road south past the salt pans and walk from the roadside onto the beach through the dunes, keeping to marked paths to protect the vegetation. There is no car park on the beach itself, and no adapted access across the dunes. Bring water and shade.
Legal context
Spain has no national law against nudity in public. La Gola is a beach of naturist tradition listed by the Spanish Naturist Federation; we found no municipal ordinance. It borders the Salinas de Santa Pola natural park, where you must stay off the dunes and protected areas.
Naturism at Playa de La Gola sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.

Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
