About Playa de la Caleta
La Caleta is a cove on the north coast of La Gomera, a few kilometres east of the town of Hermigua at the end of a winding access road. FEN lists it at about 300 m of rocks and dark sand, with strong surf and few visitors. The cove is backed by steep, green hills, with views across to Tenerife and Mount Teide on clear days. In summer it has toilets, showers and a small beach bar. Entering the water is awkward over rocks, and the north-coast swell is often heavy. Sources disagree about how nude it is: FEN lists it as a nudist-tradition beach and one guide calls it the main naturist option on the north coast, while another directory marks it as non-nudist. Expect a mixed beach where nudity is tolerated, especially toward the ends.
Getting there
From Hermigua, follow signs to La Caleta along a narrow road about 3 km long (described by some guides as a dirt track and by others as recently paved). It is also the only route on foot. There is a small parking area near the beach. Public transport does not reach the cove, so a car is the practical option. There is no adapted access onto the sand.

Legal context
Spain has no national law against nudity in public. La Caleta is listed by the Spanish Naturist Federation as a nudist-tradition beach; we found no local ordinance, and current nude use appears light and mixed.
Naturism at Playa de la Caleta sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.

Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
