About Playa de Famara
Famara is a long, wild arc of sand below the towering Risco de Famara cliffs on Lanzarote's north-west coast, next to the surf village of La Caleta de Famara. It is mostly a surfing and kite beach, often windy with strong surf. Naturists use quieter stretches away from the village and the remote Playa del Risco at the foot of the cliff. Nudity here is low-key and spread out rather than in a defined zone. There are no facilities on the open beach.
Getting there
Drive to La Caleta de Famara (LZ-402) and walk east along the beach from the village or from roadside parking areas. Playa del Risco further along requires a long walk or a steep cliff path.

Legal context
Teguise's 2016 Ordenanza de Seguridad y Convivencia bans being nude in public spaces, which in theory covers Famara. It is the only Lanzarote municipality with such a rule, and there are no reports of it being enforced (as of 2023).
Naturism at Playa de Famara sits under Spain's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
