About Playa de Fabián
Playa de Fabián is on the wild north coast of the Anaga massif in Tenerife's far north-east, within Santa Cruz de Tenerife municipality, between Benijo and the hamlet of El Draguillo. FEN describes it as about a kilometre of boulders, gravel and dark volcanic sand, with strong Atlantic surf and few visitors. The beach lies under the steep, green slopes of the Anaga Rural Park, with sea stacks offshore, and is far quieter than neighbouring Benijo because it is harder to reach. Nudity is customary here. There are no facilities, and swimming is often dangerous because of the waves and currents.
Getting there
The TF-134 road ends at Benijo, where parking is very scarce. Fabián is reached on foot from there, over rocks and smooth stones, so wear sturdy shoes. Landslides are a recurring problem on this coast: in July 2024 Santa Cruz de Tenerife council closed the access to Benijo beach as a precaution, and paths toward El Draguillo have also been reported closed. Check the current status with the council or the Anaga park office before going, and respect closure signs.
Legal context
Spain has no national law against nudity in public, and nude use along the Anaga north coast is long-standing. The practical legal issue is access: nearby Benijo beach was closed by municipal decree in 2024 because of landslide risk, and the same hazard affects the route to Fabián.
Naturism at Playa de Fabián sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.

Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
