About Playa de Esquinzo
Esquinzo is a small, wild beach on the north-west coast of Fuerteventura in La Oliva, a few kilometres south of the village of El Cotillo. It is about 300 m of golden sand at the mouth of a ravine, and you reach it by walking down through a striking channel cut into the rock. Cliffs on both sides shelter it from the road, and nudity is common, as it is on several beaches around El Cotillo. The Atlantic here is powerful: surf is often heavy, the wind strong and currents dangerous, and the beach is popular with surfers. There are no lifeguards or services, and use is light.
Getting there
Esquinzo is reached from the El Cotillo area by dirt tracks, then on foot down through the ravine to the sand. Guides describe access as difficult, and the tracks are rough, so a high-clearance vehicle or a walk is better than a low car. There is no public transport to the beach itself and no adapted access. Bring water, shade and everything you need.
What visitors say
Visitors praise Esquinzo for the dramatic walk down through the ravine, golden sand and a secluded, nude-friendly atmosphere. Several warn about strong currents and heavy surf, and say to swim with great caution or not at all on rough days.

Legal context
Spain has no national law against nudity in public. Esquinzo is used nude by custom and is listed by the Spanish Naturist Federation; Spain.info notes that many beaches around El Cotillo are mostly nudist. Strong currents are the main hazard.
Naturism at Playa de Esquinzo sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
