About Playa de Castilnovo
Castilnovo is a 2.6 km stretch of undeveloped coast between the town of Conil de la Frontera and the village of El Palmar on Cádiz's Costa de la Luz. No buildings stand behind it, only low dunes, scrubland and farmland, and the beach is named after the old Castilnovo watchtower inland. The sand is golden and very wide (around 180 m on average), so even in August it rarely feels crowded. Nudity is common along the beach and accepted as normal practice, and naturists, surfers and walkers make up most of the people on it. Conditions depend a lot on the wind: when the levante blows, sand is whipped across the beach and the sea gets rough, and it can be dangerous to swim. There are no beach bars, showers or other services, though FEN reports a lifeguard in season. The Río Salado meets the sea at the northern end, by Conil.
Getting there
There is no road onto the beach. The usual approach is on foot from Conil: cross the footbridge over the Río Salado at the northern end and walk south. You can also walk north from the end of El Palmar beach. Drivers take the CA-4202 from Conil towards El Palmar; one guide describes an informal dirt parking area beside that road, but others say there is no parking near the beach, so plan ahead. The walk is flat and on sand. There is no adapted access and no shade, so bring water and an umbrella.
What visitors say
Visitors value Castilnovo for being one of the few wild, unbuilt beaches left near Conil. It is wide and empty, and nudity is relaxed and unremarkable along most of it. People recommend going on calm days, because the levante wind can make it unpleasant, and bringing everything you need since there are no services. Accounts of parking disagree, and several say the walk in from Conil is the easiest way.

Legal context
Spain has no national law against nudity in public. Castilnovo is used nude by custom and is listed by the Spanish Naturist Federation; we found no municipal ordinance for or against nudism here. Strong wind and waves are the main hazard.
Naturism at Playa de Castilnovo sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
