About Playa de Benalnatura
Benalnatura is a small, enclosed nude cove on the coast of Benalmádena Costa, on the Costa del Sol between Torremolinos and Fuengirola. It is about 350 metres long and 25 metres wide, of gravel and darker sand with moderate waves, tucked below the coastal road and shielded by rocks, which gives it a private feel despite the built-up surroundings. Unlike most Spanish nude beaches, nudity here is expected rather than optional: directories list it as nude-only, and some reviewers report staff asking clothed visitors to undress or leave. The beach has its own chiringuito, Benalnatura Beach Bar, known for good food and friendly service, plus showers and toilets. It has a loyal following of regulars and gets crowded in summer and at weekends, so arrive early. FEN lists it as a nudist-tradition beach with high occupancy and no lifeguard.
Getting there
The cove lies below the main coastal avenue in Benalmádena Costa. Buses 110 and 120 from Torremolinos stop nearby, and there is street parking along the avenue, which fills early in summer. The way down is by stairs and rocky paths, so wear shoes with good grip; it is not wheelchair accessible.
What visitors say
Reviews are mostly positive: visitors like the cosy, private cove, the friendly beach bar and its food, and the relaxed regular crowd. The main recurring complaints are crowding in summer, the small size and the rocky descent. A minority of reviewers felt nudity rules were enforced too strictly by staff, while others welcome the nude-only policy.
