About Playa de Algorri
Algorri is a tiny, hidden beach at the foot of the flysch cliffs in Zumaia (Gipuzkoa), part of the Basque Coast Geopark. Zumaia's tourism office describes it as far more remote and much less known than the town's other beaches, with little sand. FEN lists it as a nudist-tradition beach of only about 25 metres, made of boulders, rock and some sand, with strong waves and wind and low occupancy. The setting is the main attraction: layered rock strata stand almost vertically above the beach and run out across the tidal platform. There are no services. Because of its exposure and the tides, it is a place for experienced coastal walkers on calm days. Note: the Spanish Naturist Federation is the only source we found that reports nude bathing here, and other guides do not mention it. Nude use may be occasional or limited to the quieter end, so expect most visitors to be clothed and check on arrival.
Getting there
Reached on foot from Itzurun beach in Zumaia, following the line of cliffs along the coast towards Algorri point; a geological walking route covers this stretch. The ground is rocky and depends on the tide, so go at low tide and check the forecast. No facilities and no accessible route.
