About Playa Colmenares

Playa de Los Colmenares is a small, quiet gravel beach on the south coast of Tenerife in San Miguel de Abona, about 500 metres from Playa del Barranco and close to the hotels and golf courses of the Golf del Sur area. It is about 230 metres long and 35 metres wide, with calm water and no services of any kind. The Spanish Naturist Federation lists it as a nudist-tradition beach with low occupancy; most tourists in the area stay at their hotel pools, which keeps it uncrowded. General beach directories do not mark it as a nude beach, so expect a mix of clothed and nude visitors and keep to the quieter parts. Note: the Spanish Naturist Federation is the only source we found that reports nude bathing here, and other guides do not mention it. Nude use may be occasional or limited to the quieter end, so expect most visitors to be clothed and check on arrival.

Getting there

The beach is easy to reach on foot from the Golf del Sur resort area and from Playa del Barranco, about 500 metres away. Park on the streets of the nearby developments. There are no facilities on the beach.

Legal context

Nudity is not prohibited on Spanish beaches; FEN lists Los Colmenares as a nudist-tradition beach, though other directories do not mark it as nudist and there is no official designation (2026).

Naturism at Playa Colmenares sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
