About Playa Bastiagueiriño

Bastiagueiriño (Bastiagueiro Pequeno) is a small, secluded cove in Oleiros, on the east side of A Coruña bay, next to the much larger urban beach of Bastiagueiro. It has a special place in Spanish naturism: according to the Spanish Naturist Federation it was the first nude beach authorised in Galicia, in 1984, at a time when public nudity could still be prosecuted under the 'public scandal' offence abolished in 1988. The cove is roughly 120 to 200 metres long and 20 metres wide, a mix of rounded stones, gravel and darker sand, with moderate waves. Access is awkward, which keeps it quiet, and visitor numbers are low even in high season. There are no services at all, unlike the main Bastiagueiro beach next door, which has lifeguards and facilities, so bring water and supplies. Other spots in Oleiros with nudist use include the Camposa and Margaritas beaches.

Getting there

Bastiagueiriño is about 10 km from A Coruña city, reached via the Oleiros coast road to Bastiagueiro beach, where there is parking. From there a short but steep, uneven path leads down to the smaller cove. The path is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.

Legal context

FEN records Bastiagueiriño as the first nude beach authorised in Galicia (1984), before the public-scandal offence was abolished by Organic Law 5/1988. Nudity remains lawful here (2026).

Naturism at Playa Bastiagueiriño sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.

Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
