About Playa Arroyo Vaquero
The nude beach at Arroyo Vaquero, better known as the Costa Natura beach and sometimes as Guadalobón, lies about 8 km west of Estepona on the Costa del Sol. It takes its name from Costa Natura, the oldest naturist centre in Spain, a complex built in the style of an Andalusian village, approved by FEN and the International Naturist Federation, with direct access to the sand. The wider beach runs for around 2.5 km of dark sand with moderate waves; the naturist section is the roughly 400-metre stretch in front of the resort, reaching to the Arroyo Enmedio stream. It was the first beach recognised as naturist in Spain by government decree, in 1979. The atmosphere is family-oriented in summer, when the resort runs children's activities, and quieter in winter, when many retired Europeans live there. Sunbeds can be hired from the Costa Natura kiosk, which sells soft drinks. Since 2021 a beach club set up on the beach next to the resort has refused nude customers on its sunbeds and bar, prompting a FEN petition.
Getting there
Costa Natura is signed off the A-7 coast road west of Estepona, between the Guadalobón and Arroyo Vaquero areas. Parking is available near the resort and along the service roads; the beach is a short walk down. Intercity buses run along the A-7 between Estepona and the western Costa del Sol. The sand is reached on foot over a short path; adapted access is not documented.
What visitors say
Guides describe Costa Natura as a long-standing meeting point for naturists and a relaxed, family-friendly nude beach, quieter outside summer. The main point of friction reported since 2021 is the beach club next to the naturist section, which does not allow nude customers; naturists recommend using the Costa Natura sunbeds instead.

Legal context
The naturist stretch in front of Costa Natura was recognised by government decree in 1979, the first such beach in Spain, according to FEN. Since 2021 the Nido beach club on the same beach has barred nudity on its sunbeds and bar, leading to a FEN change.org petition; no resolution was found (2026).
Naturism at Playa Arroyo Vaquero sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
