About Playa Alzada
Playa Alzada is one of the 'Grandes Playas' on the east coast of Fuerteventura, in the municipality of La Oliva, set in front of the huge white dune field of the Corralejo Dunes Natural Park. It is about 840 metres of fine golden sand, around 30 metres wide, with open views across to the islands of Lobos and Lanzarote. The surrounding landscape is entirely undeveloped and the beach is one of the calmest on this stretch, with low occupancy, though wind and moderate waves are typical. An Italian travel guide reports it was placed 48th in a 2026 list of Europe's 50 best beaches. The Spanish Naturist Federation lists it as a nudist-tradition beach, and the coves towards the southern end of the Grandes Playas are widely used for nude bathing; nude and clothed visitors spread out with plenty of room. There are no lifeguards, showers or bars, and little natural shade, so bring a windbreak, water and sun protection. The dunes are protected; keep to marked paths.
Getting there
Take the FV-1 south from Corralejo through the Dunes Natural Park; Playa Alzada lies along this road. Use the designated roadside parking areas and walk a few minutes across the sand; do not drive onto the dunes, where cars get stuck and damage the protected area. Buses between Corralejo and Puerto del Rosario run along the FV-1. The soft sand makes wheelchair access impractical.
