About Playa Algaiarens

Algaiarens, also called La Vall, is on the north-west coast of Menorca in Ciutadella, in a protected valley of pine woods and dunes. It is really two neighbouring beaches, Es Bot to the east and Es Tancats to the west, with golden sand and moderate surf; FEN gives about 300 m and a lifeguard in season. It is a popular family beach in summer, set in natural surroundings with no development. FEN includes it on its list of nudist-tradition beaches, but other guides describe it as a family beach and we found no other source for nude use here. Note: the Spanish Naturist Federation is the only source we found that reports nude bathing here, and other guides do not mention it. Nude use may be occasional or limited to the quieter end, so expect most visitors to be clothed and check on arrival.

Getting there

Signposted from the Ciutadella–Cala Morell road; the access road through the La Vall estate ends at a car park about 100 m from the beach. Guides disagree on whether a parking fee applies, and a sign at the entrance shows whether the car park is full. There is no public transport.

Legal context

Spain has no national law against public nudity. Menorca has no designated nude beaches; FEN lists Algaiarens as nudist-tradition, but it is mainly used as a family beach (checked 2026).

Naturism at Playa Algaiarens sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.

Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
