About Platya de La Marquesa

La Marquesa is a wide, quiet nude beach in Deltebre on the north side of the Ebro Delta, inside the Ebro Delta Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve. It runs between the Riumar resort and the Punta del Fangar, a 410-hectare sand spit, and the Vascos restaurant marks the boundary between La Marquesa and the Fangar section. The sand is fine and the dunes behind it are among the best preserved in the delta; they even continue underwater as shallow bars, so the sea is calm and shelving. Lengths vary by source, from about 1.2 km (regional tourism board) to 4.5 km (FEN, which likely includes adjoining sand). The Terres de l'Ebre tourism board classifies it as a nudist beach and it holds a Blue Flag. There are no services besides the restaurant: no lifeguards, showers or bins, so take your rubbish home. Dogs are allowed on a lead. It suits couples, families and nudists looking for space and quiet.

Getting there

Leave the AP-7 at exit 39 (L'Ampolla–Deltebre) and take the TV-3451 towards Deltebre and the coast; parking is along the access roads near the beach and the Vascos restaurant. There is no public transport to the beach. The approach is flat sand with no formal adapted access.
