About Platja Sa Mesquida
Sa Mesquida is a beach on the north-east coast of Menorca, a short drive north of Maó, next to the small settlement of the same name. The Spanish Naturist Federation lists it as a nudist-tradition beach: about 300 metres long and 50 metres wide, with a mix of gravel and golden sand, generally calm water and medium occupancy. It is semi-urban, with lifeguards in season but no showers. Local press in 2024 included Sa Mesquida among Menorca's beaches with a naturist tradition, while also reporting that nude bathing on the island has declined as formerly quiet beaches have become crowded. Expect a mixed beach where nude bathers keep to the quieter end rather than a dedicated nude zone. Note that there is also a Cala Mesquida on Mallorca (Capdepera) with its own nude section; many online descriptions refer to that beach, not this one.
Getting there
From Maó follow the local road north towards Sa Mesquida, about 10 minutes by car; there is parking near the village and beach, which fills in high summer. The final approach to the sand is short and level. Bus services from Maó are limited and seasonal.
