About Platja sa Conca
Sa Conca is a small cove about 1.2 km south of the centre of Cadaqués on the Cap de Creus peninsula, past the town beaches of Llané Petit and Llané Gran on the way to the Cala Nans lighthouse. It is narrow, around 125 metres long and barely 11 metres deep, made of rounded stones, coarse sand and rock, with calm, clear water. Visit Costa Brava notes its long tradition of nude bathing, and the Catalan naturist club lists it. The cove has cultural history too: the Cadaqués International Music Festival has been held in the olive grove of Sa Conca every August since 1970, and the Punta de Sortell headland at its northern end holds one of the oldest summer houses on the Costa Brava, belonging to the Pitxot family and visited by painters and writers such as Eliseu Meifrèn, Santiago Rusiñol and Joan Maragall. There are no facilities on the beach itself, though bars and restaurants are within walking distance. Occupancy is moderate.
Getting there
From Cadaqués centre it is about a 15-minute walk south along the coast road towards Cala Nans. Cars can be driven almost to the beach, with a small parking area close by, though spaces fill in summer. A short path leads down to the stones; water shoes are recommended. Buses from Figueres and Barcelona run to Cadaqués. Not wheelchair accessible.
What visitors say
Visitors describe a small, attractive stony cove close to town with very clear water. Reviewers note there are no bars or showers on the beach and recommend water shoes because of the pebbles. The walk from the centre is short and easy, and parking nearby is convenient outside peak weekends.
