About Platja Naturista de la Savinosa
La Savinosa is a Blue Flag beach on the eastern edge of Tarragona city, one of the few beaches on the Costa Daurada where nude and clothed bathers share the sand. It is about 350 metres long and 60 metres wide, with golden sand and usually calm water, set below a wooded slope between the city's Arrabassada and Llarga beaches. Tarragona's municipal coastal safety plan notes that the north-eastern part of the beach is the reference area for naturism, and that is where nude bathers gather. The Catalan Naturist Club regularly holds Naturism Day and other events here. Facilities are good for a nude beach: a beach bar, toilets, showers and footbaths, lifeguards in season, access walkways and assisted bathing with an amphibious chair for people with reduced mobility. Swimwear is optional; FEN encourages nudity but bikinis and trunks are also common.
Getting there
La Savinosa lies just off the N-340 (around km 1165) on the north-east side of Tarragona. It can be reached on foot along the city's coastal footpath from the Arrabassada or Platja Llarga, or by city bus (lines 1 and 9 serve the area). The municipal plan notes the beach has no dedicated car park, so parking is on nearby streets. Walkways reach the sand and adapted access is available.
What visitors say
Guides describe La Savinosa as a relaxed mixed beach where nudists and textile bathers coexist without problems, valued for its easy access from the city, clean water and full services including adapted bathing. The naturist crowd concentrates at the north-eastern end. It can get busy on summer weekends.
