About Platja del Coco

Platja del Coco is a short urban beach in Badalona, just north of Barcelona, lying between the Badalona marina and the old Pont del Petroli pier. The nude section begins at the breakwater nearest the port and is only around 80 metres long, a pocket of golden sand with calm water right below the seafront promenade. FEN notes that clothing is optional on all of Badalona's beaches, but nudists choose to gather here, a quieter corner of the town's seafront, and mix easily with clothed bathers. The atmosphere is described as friendly and family-like, with a core of regulars; there has been talk of forming a local naturist association. It is busy at weekends, when you need to arrive early, and the mornings are calmest. Lifeguards and beach services operate in summer, and the town council leaves the shower at the nude section in place all year. Bars, tapas places, restaurants and supermarkets along the promenade make it easy to buy food and drink.

Getting there

Reached from the Badalona seafront promenade. Drivers are advised to park in the streets inland of the railway and cross to the promenade by the footbridge at Plaça del Vaixell Maria Assumpta, as parking near the beach is scarce. Public transport is the easier option: Badalona's Rodalies train station and several bus routes are a short walk away, and metro line L2 serves the town centre.

Legal context

Naturism at Platja del Coco sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
