About Platja del Brosquil

El Brosquil, also called El Dorado after the neighbouring housing estate, is the southernmost of Cullera's beaches in Valencia province, about 5 km south of the town. It sits south of the Gola de l'Estany outlet, beyond the rocky Playa del Silencio and the semi-urban El Dorado strip, and runs to the boundary with Tavernes de la Valldigna. The Spanish Naturist Federation describes a long, quiet beach of about 2.3 km of fine golden sand with calm water, an area that was once the mouth of the river Júcar. Behind it lie orange groves, the Brosquil marsh and views of the Corbera and Mondúver ranges. Use is low outside July and August, and nude bathers spread out along the quieter, less built-up sections. There are no lifeguards or showers on the nude stretch. Local restaurants in the area are known for rice dishes, eel and sea bass. Be aware that Valencian regional tourism names Mareny de Sant Llorenç, north of Cullera, as the town's only authorised nude area, so nudity here is by tradition rather than designation.

Getting there

Reached by car along the CV-605 coastal road south of Cullera, following signs for El Brosquil / El Dorado; there is street parking near the estates. The beach can also be walked along the shore from El Dorado. No dedicated public transport serves the beach. Paths cross low dunes onto flat sand.

Legal context

Nudity is not illegal on Spanish beaches, and FEN lists El Brosquil as a beach of nudist tradition. However, the Comunitat Valenciana tourism site identifies Mareny de Sant Llorenç as Cullera's only authorised nudist zone, so there is no official designation here (2026). Sources disagree on whether dogs are allowed.

Naturism at Platja del Brosquil sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
