About Platja de La Musclera

La Musclera is a broad Maresme beach of golden sand at the southern end of Arenys de Mar, where the municipality meets Caldes d'Estrac. It is around 620 m long and nearly 50 m deep, with the coastal railway and the N-II running behind it. It has one of the longest nudist traditions on the Barcelona coast: the Spanish Naturist Federation describes it as a long-established nudist beach with a family atmosphere, used mainly by people from the Maresme and the Vallès inland. The Catalan Naturism Club regularly holds its annual Naturism Day here in early June. Being semi-urban and easy to reach, it is well used in summer, with showers, cleaning, lifeguards and a beach bar. The water is generally calm, and the sand shelves gradually. Nude and clothed bathers share the beach, with nude use well established across it.

Getting there

Most visitors arrive from the Caldes d'Estrac side, where there is a large car park at the southern end of the beach. Rodalies R1 trains stop at Caldes d'Estrac and Arenys de Mar stations, both within walking distance along the seafront. The railway runs behind the beach, so the sand is reached by crossings under the tracks; soft sand limits wheelchair access.

Legal context

Spain has no national law against public nudity, and nude bathing is lawful on any beach unless a municipal bylaw restricts it. Arenys de Mar has no known nudist designation or ban for La Musclera; it is a long-standing traditional nudist beach listed by the Spanish Naturist Federation and the Catalan Naturism Club (2026 list), with no reported enforcement conflicts.

Naturism at Platja de La Musclera sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
