About Platja de la Devesa del Saler
The Devesa del Saler is the strip of dune and pine forest between the Albufera lagoon and the sea south of Valencia city, inside the Albufera Natural Park, with a chain of natural beaches running south from El Saler village: El Saler, La Garrofera and La Devesa. Its nude area is the first stretch of about 800 m of La Garrofera beach, starting where El Saler beach ends. Valencia City Council set up a nudist zone here years ago, opposite the lifeguard tower known as torre 5, with signs, a shower, Red Cross lifeguards and adapted access; in practice nude bathing extends along adjoining unsigned stretches within the park. The beaches are broad and sandy, sheltered from the westerly wind by dunes and pinewoods, with no buildings on the shore, and the wider La Garrofera beach runs for about 2.6 km. It is a popular spot for Valencians, close enough to the city for an afternoon visit, and the sea can have a moderate swell.
Getting there
From Valencia take the CV-500 south towards El Saler and El Palmar (about 11 km, 15 minutes by car). Bus line 25 from the city towards El Palmar stops on the Avenida de los Pinares at El Saler (about 30 minutes from the centre). Paths cross the protected dunes to the beach; stay on them. The municipal nudist zone has adapted access.

Legal context
Spain has no national law against public nudity, and nude bathing is lawful on any beach unless a municipal bylaw restricts it. Turespaña's spain.info states that the first 800 m of La Garrofera, starting at El Saler, is naturist, and a 2026 legal-press article reports a council-designated nudist zone opposite torre 5 with signs, shower and Red Cross lifeguards. The beaches lie within the Albufera Natural Park, where dune protection rules apply.
Naturism at Platja de la Devesa del Saler sits under Spain's rules for officially designated nude beaches — explicit protection inside the marked area.
Full country law: Spain public nudity guide.
Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
