About Platgeta de Sa Torreta
Sa Torreta is a small sandy beach on s'Espalmador, the low islet that lies between the northern tip of Formentera and Ibiza, rather than on Formentera's main island. The beach is about 250 m long and only around 15 m deep, with golden sand and normally calm, shallow water sheltered from the open sea. There are no buildings or services. S'Espalmador has long been known as a naturist spot, and naturist guides describe walking around the islet from the main landing beach, s'Alga, to quieter beaches such as Sa Torreta and the two Cala de Bosch coves, where swimming completely nude is normal. The Spanish Naturist Federation lists Playa de Sa Torreta among Formentera's beaches of nudist tradition and notes that the islands' coasts are shared by nude and clothed bathers. Because it takes a walk from the landing beach, it is normally quieter than s'Alga, where most boat visitors stay.
Getting there
There is no road access: s'Espalmador is reached only by sea. Boats run in summer from La Savina port on Formentera to the islet, landing at s'Alga beach, where most visitors stay; private boats also visit. From s'Alga, walk along the coast to Sa Torreta; the whole islet can be walked round in a couple of hours over sand and low dunes, so allow time and bring water. There is no parking, shade or wheelchair access.
Legal context
Spain has no national law against public nudity, and nude bathing is lawful on any beach unless a municipal bylaw restricts it. No designated nudist zone exists on s'Espalmador; nudity is customary, and the Spanish Naturist Federation lists Sa Torreta as a beach of nudist tradition. The islet lies within a protected natural area, so general conservation rules (no camping, respect for dunes) apply.
Naturism at Platgeta de Sa Torreta sits under Spain's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
