About Paramali Turtle Beach

Paramali Turtle Beach is an undeveloped stretch of sand and pebbles west of Limassol, near Paramali village in the Western Sovereign Base Area at Episkopi. It has no facilities and is a protected sea turtle nesting site, so parts may be closed to the public during the nesting season (roughly June to September), and access can also be limited by the nearby military area. It is also popular with kitesurfers. Naturists use the more deserted parts of the beach, as recommended by a long-running online naturist guide to Cyprus, which advises avoiding high summer when local beachgoers arrive in numbers. There is no designated area, so nudity relies on discretion and on finding an empty section.

Getting there

Paramali is reached from the Limassol–Paphos road near Paramali village and Episkopi, west of Limassol; tracks lead down to the shore. There are no facilities and no public transport to the beach itself. Respect any turtle-nesting closures and military area signs.

Legal context

Cyprus has no official nudist beaches and public nudity is technically illegal; authorities generally ignore discreet nude sunbathing where no one complains, but signs at Avdimou warn of prosecution and arrests have been reported there (Cyprus Mail, 2022). The beach is in a British Sovereign Base Area and a turtle-nesting site with seasonal access restrictions.

Naturism at Paramali Turtle Beach sits under Cyprus's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
