About Nudist area Geestmerambacht

The Geestmerambacht nude area is an inland naturist spot on the Zomerdel, the recreation lake in the Geestmerambacht park between Alkmaar and Langedijk (now part of the municipality of Dijk en Waard) in North Holland. It occupies a small peninsula on the east shore of the lake at swimming bay 4, covering about one hectare of open lawns with a short strip of sand, and is marked with signs. The swimming area in front is unusual: part of it is enclosed by rock fill and only about 0.8 m deep, which suits small children but not real swimming, while outside it the shore drops steeply and the lake reaches around 20 m deep. A floating jetty lets stronger swimmers reach deeper water. The bay is an officially monitored bathing water, with a buoy line at 1.4 m. Facilities are minimal: one toilet block, bins and bike racks; food and drink are only at the clothed car-park areas to the north and south. The Zomerdel lake was redeveloped in 2007, and the wider recreation area has been earmarked for further changes. Wooded areas around the lawns have a reputation for cruising, which NFN raised with the park operator in 2020, leading to vegetation being cut back.

Getting there

Geestmerambacht lies just northeast of Alkmaar. There are two car parks: a northern one and a southern one, both free according to naaktstrandje.nl, about 780 m from the nude area along park paths. Bicycle racks are on the beach itself, and cycling from Alkmaar is the easiest option. The nearest bus stop listed by BlootKompas is Alkmaar, De Landman, about 2 km away on foot. The paths are flat and the site is described as accessible for people with reduced mobility, though getting into the water from the high jetty is awkward.

What visitors say

Visitors like the lake setting, the open lawns and the jetty for a proper swim, and some describe calm, pleasant visits at quiet weekend times. However, the most frequent complaint in reviews is men cruising or watching others, mainly around the wooded edges, and several recent reviews (2024 and 2026) say this makes it uncomfortable for women, couples and families. Other complaints include goose droppings, litter in the toilet block and difficult water entry from the high jetty. Experiences vary strongly by day and time.
