About Nemirseta beach

Nemirseta is the southernmost part of Palanga, on the Baltic coast near the Klaipėda city boundary. The long sand beach, backed by dunes, has an informal nudist section that has been used for years. A beach directory gives its length as about 1.4 km and describes it as a place for people who want a quiet stay and for naturists. It is a long way from the busy central beaches and the pier, so it is much calmer than central Palanga. The basic facilities mentioned are changing cabins and toilets; there is nowhere to eat right on the beach, and the nearest restaurant is reported to be under 1 km away. The Baltic Times reported that Palanga municipality knew about the nudist beach but had no plans to act against it, and that the head of the lifeguard service favoured making it official, preferably further away from the family beaches. Nudist use is separate from Palanga's single-sex women's and men's beaches near the central lifeguard station.

Getting there

Nemirseta is at the southern end of Palanga, near the Klaipėda boundary, off the coastal road between Giruliai and Palanga. The easiest way there is by car or taxi. A car park serving the nudist beach lies inland of the dunes, and paths lead from it across the dunes to the shore, a few minutes' walk on sand. Public transport details for this stretch were not found.
