About Naturist Beach Punta Križ
Punta Križ is a rocky naturist shore at Monsena, on the coast north of Rovinj in western Istria, not far from the Valalta naturist resort. It is a public beach rather than a resort, reached by forest paths, and is a rocky shore with no sand. For years it was one of Istria's best-known free naturist beaches, but it also became known as a swinger and gay cruising spot, and in 2013 the City of Rovinj stepped in: it said it did not want to ban naturism, but because families and older people also use the beach, it put up signs against behaviour offending public morals, hired security staff and announced fines for sex in public and for exhibitionism and voyeurism. Recent reviews still describe it as an adult-oriented place rather than a traditional FKK beach, with a lively atmosphere, litter along the forest paths and rocks that can be hazardous both in and out of the water. Bring water shoes and a mat; there are no facilities on the beach.
Getting there
Punta Križ is reached by car or bike from Rovinj, heading north toward the Monsena area, then on foot along forest paths to the shore. Paths are informal and often littered, and the final approach is over rocks, so it is not step-free. Rovinj and the village of Bale are the usual bases. We found no information on parking capacity or charges.
What visitors say
Reviewers describe an unconventional, lively adult beach with a swinger and cruising reputation rather than a classic family FKK atmosphere. Complaints focus on litter on the forest paths and on the sharp, uneven rocks.

Legal context
Croatia allows nudity on beaches designated as naturist (FKK) by local authorities and fines nudity elsewhere under public-order rules; in 2013 the City of Rovinj kept naturism at Punta Križ but posted signs and security against sexual behaviour, with fines of up to 5,000 kuna or 30 days' jail for sex in public and 500-2,000 kuna for exhibitionism and voyeurism. We found no newer official update.
Naturism at Naturist Beach Punta Križ sits under Croatia's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
