About Natur- und FKK-Strand am Fürstensee
The Großer Fürstenseer See is a 228-hectare forest lake about 4 km south-east of Neustrelitz, on the eastern edge of the Müritz National Park in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Apart from the village of Fürstensee, it is surrounded by woodland, much of the shore is fringed with reeds, and large parts of the lake are a nature reserve, so motorboats and scuba diving are banned. A peninsula, the Pankower Ort, divides its northern part into two arms, and narrow channels link it to neighbouring lakes such as the Hinnensee. The village bathing place has a jetty, light sand and a small playground. Separately, the south-east shore is known as the Natur- und FKK-Strand am Fürstensee: a wooded stretch of shoreline with many small, secluded swimming spots used by nude bathers, especially on hot days. It is a natural shore rather than a managed beach, with no facilities reported. The water is clear and of very good quality.
Getting there
From Neustrelitz drive or cycle about 4 km south-east to the village of Fürstensee (about 10 minutes by car); the official village bathing place has a car park and is described as barrier-free. The nude area is on the wooded south-east shore and is reached on forest paths; no specific parking or walk time was found. Neustrelitz has regional rail connections. Access to the nude shore is over unsurfaced woodland paths and not suitable for wheelchairs.

Legal context
No official designation was found; nude bathing at the south-east shore is a long-standing informal custom described by a regional travel portal (2026). Large parts of the lake are a nature reserve, so motorboats and scuba diving are prohibited and fishing needs a permit.
Naturism at Natur- und FKK-Strand am Fürstensee sits under Germany's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
