About Naaktstrand Egmond Zuid

The Egmond-Binnen nude beach is a 1.75 km stretch of North Sea sand south of Egmond aan Zee, in the municipality of Bergen, North Holland. It lies between beach poles 41.00 and 42.75, roughly between the Middenweg and Vlewoseweg beach accesses (strandslag 35 and 36), with the dunes of the Noordhollands Duinreservaat behind it. That reserve is what makes this beach so quiet: there is no road to the sea, so everyone arrives on foot or by bike after a long ride or walk through the dunes. Bergen marks its beach zones with coloured pole heads, and here the poles are pink and boards indicate the nude section. Nude use also spills over onto a short 250 m activity strip between poles 40.75 and 41.00, which used to be part of the nude beach, and onto the quiet sand between strandslag 36 and 37. The beach is wide, sandy and gently shelving. Dogs are not allowed. A beach pavilion sits about 550 m beyond the northern boundary; there are no facilities on the nude section itself.

Getting there

The beach sits behind the Noordhollands Duinreservaat and is awkward to reach by car. According to naaktstrandje.nl, paid parking is about 2.75 km away and free parking about 2.85 km away, and the nearest bus stop is roughly a 30-minute walk. Most visitors cycle through the dunes; bike parking is available about 200-800 m from the nude section. The final approach is over sand, and the beach is not suitable for people with limited mobility.

Legal context

naaktstrandje.nl states that Bergen formally designated poles 41.00-42.75 as a nude recreation beach in 2013 after years of toleration, marked by signs and pink pole heads; the municipality's beach leaflet (2017) confirms that pink-marked zones are nude beaches. Outside the marked zone nude recreation is tolerated in quiet stretches but not designated.

Naturism at Naaktstrand Egmond Zuid sits under Netherlands's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
