About Naaktstrand Brouwersdam
The Brouwersdam nude beach is on the south-west tip of Goeree-Overflakkee in South Holland, on the North Sea coast at Ouddorp, toward the Brouwersdam that closes off Lake Grevelingen. It occupies the stretch between beach poles 18.00 and 18.75, about 300 m north of beach access 12, 't Gorsje. In July 2025 the municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee formally designated it as a naturist beach in its local bylaw (APV); the same decision bans nude recreation elsewhere in the municipality, which the naturist federation NFN objected to in 2023 and 2025. Signs were announced. The beach is wide sand, with calm, clean water and plenty of shells, so water shoes help; seaweed sometimes piles up at the tideline. It is quiet and only a short walk from the access point, and visitors find sheltered spots near the dunes. Textile walkers pass along the waterline and some find the nude section small. There are no facilities on the nude stretch; toilets and showers are at the beach access. Beachclub 't Gorsje burned down in August 2024 and was being rebuilt in 2025.
Getting there
Drive to Ouddorp and follow signs to beach access 12, 't Gorsje; parking is within about 1 km (reported free in 2019; check current rules). From the access walk about 300 m north, roughly 5 to 10 minutes, to pole 18.00. There is bike parking near the access. Buses stop on Oudelandseweg in Ouddorp, just over 2 km away. Entry is free; accessibility for wheelchair users is rated very poor.
What visitors say
This is one of the better-rated Dutch nude beaches: reviewers praise the quiet atmosphere, clean water, good swimming and easy access. Complaints concern shells and seaweed, few facilities on the beach itself, textile walkers along the waterline, few other naturists on some days, and the small size of the section. Accessibility for disabled visitors is rated very poorly. One reviewer reported an unwanted encounter, to which NFN responded.

Legal context
Under Dutch criminal law (art. 430a Sr) nudity is only an offence in places not suitable for it or where a municipality has banned it, so nude recreation is lawful on designated beaches and on quiet beaches judged suitable. Goeree-Overflakkee added this beach (poles 18.00-18.75) to its APV as a naturist beach in July 2025 and at the same time prohibited nude recreation elsewhere in the municipality.
Naturism at Naaktstrand Brouwersdam sits under Netherlands's rules for officially designated nude beaches — explicit protection inside the marked area.
Full country law: Netherlands public nudity guide.
Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
