About Mekićevica (Beach)
Mekićevica (also written Mekičevića) is a small bay on the south coast of Hvar, roughly 2 km east of Hvar town along the shore beyond Pokonji Dol. It is better known as Robinson, after the rustic restaurant and beach bar that sit above the cove. The setting is wild by Hvar standards: bare, jagged limestone slabs and a pebble cove, backed by dry scrub and pines, with no road to the water. Time Out's Hvar beach guide describes the bay as frequented by naturists, and nude-beach listings place it among the town's clothing-optional spots; there is no official FKK designation or signage, so expect a mix of nude and clothed bathers. The water is very clear and drops off quickly from the rocks, which suits snorkelling more than paddling. The restaurant and bar are the only services. Because it takes some effort to reach, it is quieter than the beaches near town, though taxi boats bring day-trippers in high season. For a designated naturist beach near Hvar town, Jerolim island in the Pakleni group is the better-known choice.
Getting there
Walk east from Hvar town along the coastal path to Pokonji Dol beach, then continue on the rougher, rocky trail for about 15 to 20 minutes; Time Out puts the whole hike at around 45 minutes from town. Wear proper shoes: the path is uneven, partly unshaded and not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. Taxi boats from Hvar harbour also call at the bay in season. Parking in Hvar town is limited and paid.
What visitors say
Guides describe the cove as one of Hvar's wildest, with a rough path and a characterful, ramshackle bar and restaurant that many walkers use as their goal. Nude bathing is reported but not universal, and the bay is shared with clothed day-trippers. Reports of how long the walk takes differ (15-20 minutes from Pokonji Dol versus about 45 minutes from town). Detailed visitor reports about the nude scene are scarce.

Legal context
Croatian rules allow nude bathing on designated or customarily naturist beaches; Mekićevica has no official FKK designation that we could find, and its nude use is by custom (Time Out, accessed 2026). Cover up when going up to the restaurant and bar.
Naturism at Mekićevica (Beach) sits under Croatia's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.

Researched 24 October 2026. No official source confirms naturist status, so treat it as unverified.
