About Mannheim: Stollenwörthweiher

The Stollenwörthweiher is a former gravel pit in Mannheim-Neckarau, about 600 m long and 150 m wide, beside which lies the Heinz-Hunsinger-Sommerbad, a club-run summer lido operated by the Volkstümlicher Wassersport Mannheim e.V. The paying complex combines lake swimming with pools (swimmer, non-swimmer and paddling pools, a children's fun pool with slides), a playground, beach volleyball, a lawn of roughly 25,000 m2 and a club restaurant with a beer garden. Bath directories and a visitor comment describe a separated FKK section within the grounds; we could not confirm its exact position or rules from the operator's own site, so ask at the entrance. It is an urban, family-oriented bath that gets busy on hot weekends.

Getting there

Address: Rheingoldstraße 204, 68199 Mannheim. Take Stadtbahn line 7 to the stop Stollenwörthweiher. The bath charges entry: in the current season adults pay 4.50 euros (reduced 4.00, children 6-16 3.00, under 5 free, 6-visit cards available). It is open from mid-May to mid-September, roughly 10:00-19:00/21:00 on weekdays and from 9:00 at weekends depending on the period; last entry 30 minutes before closing. We found no parking details. A visitor reports dogs are not allowed in the bathing area.

What visitors say

Ratings are mixed (around 3.3 of 5 on one portal). Visitors value the cheap, convenient lake-plus-pool combination, while comments disagree on lake depth and dog rules; several mention the FKK beach as one of two swimming areas.

Legal context

Nude bathing is reportedly confined to a separated FKK section inside the paid, club-run bath; outside it normal swimwear rules apply. We did not find the FKK area on the operator's own pages (checked 2026), so its current status is unconfirmed by the operator.

Naturism at Mannheim: Stollenwörthweiher sits under Germany's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
