About FKK Beach Sunčana Uvala

Sunčana uvala (Sunny Bay) is a sheltered resort bay about a kilometre south of the centre of Mali Lošinj, on the island of Lošinj in the Kvarner Gulf. Its main beaches, Veli Žal and Borik, are pebbly, Blue Flag family beaches with lifeguards, sunbed rental, bars and hotels set among pine woods. The FKK beach is a separate, smaller stretch just south of Borik, which a German guide names as Žalić; the European bathing-water register lists a 'Sunčana Uvala FKK' sampling point here with excellent water quality. It is a pebble-and-rock shore shaded by pines, with clear, calm water typical of the bay. Because it sits inside a resort area, the hotels' bars and restaurants are a few minutes' walk away. Expect a mixed crowd of hotel guests and island regulars in July and August.

Getting there

From Mali Lošinj town follow signs to Sunčana uvala; the bay is about a kilometre from the centre and can be reached on foot from the town or by car; parking near the resort beaches fills up in high season. From Borik beach walk a few minutes south along the shore path to the FKK section; the path is easy but not suited to wheelchairs, and entry to the water is over pebbles and rocks.

What visitors say

Reports on this FKK stretch are thin. Guides describe it as a pleasant, pine-shaded pebble shore with very clear water and the convenience of the resort next door. Some sources confuse it with Veli Žal or Borik, which are textile family beaches, so check signs on arrival.

Legal context

In Croatia nudity is restricted to beaches marked as FKK, and local public-order rules can fine nudity elsewhere. This stretch is listed as an FKK bathing area in the European bathing-water register and by guides, but we did not see a tourist-board page confirming its current designation.

Naturism at FKK Beach Sunčana Uvala sits under Croatia's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
