About Kviljoodden
Kviljoodden is a point on the Lista peninsula west of Farsund, on the exposed southern coast of Norway. It sits on a continuous stretch of sand that runs from Havika to Østhasselstrand. Visit Norway describes the Kviljosanden beach here as quiet and remote, with birds more common than people. Lista's flat coast is known for its birdlife. In 2013, Norsk Naturistforbund included 'Lista – Kviljodden' in its list of places to bathe nude in Norway, but the federation's current beach list no longer names it. Treat it as an informal spot, where nude bathing relies on how remote the beach is rather than on any designation. There are no facilities at the point.
Getting there
No public parking is available close to Kviljosanden. Visit Norway advises parking at Havika and walking west along the beach to Kviljoodden. Østhasselstrand, at the other end of the same stretch of beach, also has parking. The walk is on open sand, so it is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Legal context
Norwegian law does not forbid nude bathing as such. Nudity is an offence only if it is indecent or offensive in the circumstances. Kviljoodden was on Norsk Naturistforbund's 2013 list but is missing from the federation's current list, and no municipal designation was found.
Naturism at Kviljoodden sits under Norway's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
