About Glomstadbukta naturiststrand

Glomstadbukta is a naturist beach and camp area on the western shore of Mjøsa, Norway's largest lake, about 3 km north of Gjøvik town centre. It is one of the official beaches listed by the Norwegian Naturist Federation. The local naturist club, Mjøsområdets Naturistforening, leases and runs it, and has put a lot of work into the site over the years. There is no sand resort here. The site has a bathing area by the lake and the mouth of a river, a lawn where visitors can camp in a tent for up to three days, and a small marina for people arriving by boat. Facilities include a well-equipped barbecue area (the club calls it Norway's finest), a petanque court, and the Glomstadbu hut, which sleeps four and can be rented by members of naturist federations affiliated with the INF. Visit Norway's bathing guide for the Gjøvik region lists it as a naturist beach.

Getting there

From Gjøvik, take Rv 4 north for about 3 km and leave it towards Nordenga, following the signs. At the first junction turn left onto Trondhjemsvegen towards Gjøvik, and after about 300 m turn left down Bråstadvika. Continue past the field, over the bridge across Rv 4, and follow the road to the bathing area, keeping half left down to the river, where there is a parking area. Visitors can also arrive by boat and use the small marina.
