About Kasjuni Beach
Kašjuni is the westernmost of the beaches on the southern side of Marjan, the forested hill-park that fills the peninsula west of Split's old town. The main beach sits in a deep, sheltered bay of small pebbles and is a favourite with local families; it has a café and changing cabins, and a separate dog beach lies just beside it, divided off by rocks. The Split Tourist Board states that one section of Kašjuni is designated for naturists and marked with a sign. Locally the nude area is associated with the rocky shore running west from the family beach, a stretch known as Pećine, where people spread out on flat rocks below the Marjan pines rather than on pebbles. Expect deeper water off the rocks, little or no facilities in the nude part, and natural shade only from the trees behind. Because the dog beach and the naturist area adjoin each other, there has been friction between the two groups in the past. It is the only marked naturist spot within walking or short bus distance of central Split.
Getting there
Kašjuni is at the western end of Marjan, roughly 4-5 km from Split's Riva. City bus 12 runs from the Riva towards the Marjan beaches; get off at the Kašjuni stop and walk down about 10 minutes. You can also drive to the Kašjuni cove, park near the beach, and then walk west along the shore to the naturist rocks. Cycling or walking through Marjan park is a longer but pleasant alternative. The rocky nude section is reached over uneven rock and is not suitable for wheelchairs.
What visitors say
Visitors describe Kašjuni as a busy, family-oriented city beach in summer, with the naturist area being quieter rocky ground to the west where locals and visitors spread out on the rocks. People appreciate the clear water and pine backdrop and the easy bus connection from the centre. Reports mention the proximity of the dog beach, and the rocky nude part has no facilities, so bring water and something to lie on. Arriving early helps in July and August.

Legal context
The Split Tourist Board lists a naturist section at Kašjuni marked with a sign (accessed 2026). Under Croatian rules nudity is permitted on designated naturist beaches; a 2014 local report described the older Pećine nude spot as tolerated rather than formally sanctioned, and noted a past dispute when the city designated part of the area for dogs.
Naturism at Kasjuni Beach sits under Croatia's rules for officially designated nude beaches — explicit protection inside the marked area.
