About Hasse-See
The Hassesee is the smallest lake of the Geiseltal lake group, sitting on the edge of Roßbach just south of Braunsbedra in southern Saxony-Anhalt, between Merseburg and Weißenfels. It fills a former opencast lignite pit, named after the mine manager Hasse, and has served as a local recreation area since 1980. The lake is run together with a year-round campsite as a supervised Strandbad: about 500 m of sandy beach backed by a large lawn, a lifeguard tower, a water slide of roughly 90 m, and sports areas for volleyball, table tennis and football. Within the guarded beach a separate FKK section with its own water access is set aside; one listing puts it at about a quarter of the sand. The campsite still carries the feel of a former GDR holiday ground, with bungalows, caravans and frequent events such as beach parties, discos, concerts and a triathlon, so summer weekends can be lively. It is mainly a local and family destination rather than a naturist resort.
Getting there
Address: Gardinenstraße 33, 06242 Braunsbedra OT Roßbach. By car, leave the A38 at Merseburg or the A9 at Weißenfels and follow signs to Braunsbedra/Roßbach; parking is available at the lake. The beach is directly beside the campsite, so walk-in is short and flat. The Strandbad is run by the campsite operator; entry terms and prices were not published in the sources found (operator phone 034633 22269). Cycle and walking routes link the Geiseltal lakes, including the Geiseltalsee.
What visitors say
Reviews are mixed. Several visitors describe a small, relaxed lake with a tidy bathing area and lakeside camping pitches, used regularly by local families. Others note that the facilities are modern but the site keeps a GDR-era campground character, and that frequent events make it busy and noisy at times. One visitor was disappointed by the condition of the FKK beach and the water on the day of their visit, and campers mention the slide being out of action when the lake level was low.

Legal context
The FKK section is set aside by the private operator of the Strandbad and campsite inside its fenced, supervised bathing area; no municipal ordinance designating it was found. Outside designated areas, public nudity in Germany can be treated as a regulatory offence if others are harassed. No reported conflicts or enforcement were found (as of 2026).
Naturism at Hasse-See sits under Germany's rules for de facto tolerance — usually left alone if you keep it non-sexual and low-drama.
