About FKK-Strand Priwall
Priwall is the peninsula on the far side of the Trave estuary from Travemünde, Lübeck's Baltic resort. Its north-facing beach is a natural sand beach about 1.4 km long. It runs from the Trave mouth and the south pier east to the low Rosenhagen cliff at the Mecklenburg border. The Travemünde tourism office lists one of the resort's two designated FKK areas on the eastern part of this beach. Small dunes there are popular as sheltered spots to lie in. The beach shelves gently into shallow water. With dunes and a small wood behind it, it is calmer than the main Travemünde promenade beach and popular with families. The state bathing-water profile lists the Priwall beach as an EU bathing water operated by the Kurbetrieb Travemünde. It records a lifeguard service for part of the time, toilets, showers, a kiosk, an FKK beach and a dog beach. Dogs are allowed only in the first 100 m from the passenger ferry pier at the western end, well away from the nude area. In season a per-person beach fee is charged on Priwall.
Getting there
From Travemünde, cross the Trave by the passenger ferry, which runs from near the pilot station, or by the car ferry. Then walk east along the Priwall beach to the eastern section, where the FKK area is. A boardwalk leads onto the beach. In the bathing season a per-person beach fee is collected on Priwall at machines or from beach-chair attendants, and applies to the dog beach too. Visitors staying overnight can use their resort card instead.
