About Es Pujols

Es Pujols is the main resort beach of Formentera, on the island's north-east coast between Punta Prima and the Pedrera d'en Coix, about 5 km from the ferry port of La Savina. The beach is around 700 m long and 25 m deep, with fine white to golden sand broken by low rocky stretches where fishermen still keep boats in traditional wooden sheds. The water is turquoise, shallow for several metres and usually calm, which makes it popular with families, snorkellers and kayakers. Behind it stands the island's largest concentration of hotels, restaurants and bars, and it is busy in summer. The official Balearic tourism site describes Es Pujols as a family beach, and most people on the central sand are clothed; one beach guide states nudism is allowed, and nude sunbathing is mainly found at the rocky ends and especially in the small neighbouring coves of Ses Canyes and Sa Roqueta just to the north-west, where Spain's national tourism site says nudism is practised.

Getting there

From La Savina follow the signposted road east for about 5 km; from La Mola it is about 13 km. Parking is available close to the beach in the resort, though it fills in July and August. Es Pujols is one of the easiest Formentera beaches to reach by bus, and bikes and scooters can be hired locally. The neighbouring coves of Ses Canyes and Sa Roqueta are reached on foot along the shore or by short paths off the road north-west of the resort.

Legal context

Public nudity is legal in Spain and no local ban was found for Es Pujols, but it is a mainly clothed resort beach; the official Balearic tourism page presents it as family-oriented and does not mention nudism (2026). Nude sunbathing is more accepted in the adjoining small coves.

Naturism at Es Pujols sits under Spain's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
