About El Playazo de Vera
El Playazo, on the Vera Playa coast in Almería, is the heart of one of Europe's largest naturist resort areas. It is a long, broad sandy beach backed by naturist apartment complexes such as Vera Natura and Natsun, and nudity is normal on the sand, at the beach bars and in parts of the resort itself. The northern section is the naturist one. The southern end has a more textile tradition. Expect a sociable, mixed crowd of couples and families, with steady wind and moderate waves on some days. It hosted a Guinness-recognised mass nude swim in 2013.
Getting there
Drive or take a bus to Vera Playa on the coast road east of Vera (A-7/AL-7107). There are parking areas along the seafront, and the naturist resort complexes sit directly behind the beach.

Legal context
Nudism is lawful here and part of the area's tourism identity. Spain's national tourism portal lists El Playazo as a nudist beach. Storms in early 2025 caused serious erosion, and Vera council has asked the national government for emergency coastal works, so the width of the beach may vary.
