About Einfelder See
The Einfelder See is a shallow lake of about 1.8 km² on the northern edge of Neumünster in Schleswig-Holstein, about 3 km long and up to 8.4 m deep, with the village of Mühbrook at its northern tip and the Neumünster district of Einfeld at its southern end. The west shore is a nature reserve; the east side has beaches, lawns and boat access, and an 8 km circular path runs round the lake. Naturist reports going back to 2000 place the nude area north of the main bathing beach at the Einfelder Schanze on the L381: walking north along the beach, a footpath leads into a belt of bushes, where small sunny bays screened from view are used for nude bathing. How much space there is depends on the water level. Opinions on the current situation differ: one undated comment claims FKK has been banned and policed for a couple of years, and a 2006 visitor saw no nude bathers, while a 2011 report still described nude bathers along the path. Expect a small, informal area rather than a beach.
Getting there
Use the main bathing beach at the Einfelder Schanze on the L381 (the road from Neumünster towards Kiel), where there is plenty of parking. From the beach walk north (to the right) and follow the footpath into the bushes to the small bays. Paths are narrow, unpaved tracks; there are no facilities in the bays, but the main beach area is the place for services. The 8 km lake circuit passes Mühbrook and Einfeld.
What visitors say
Older reports describe sheltered, sunny little bays and a friendly, sociable atmosphere among nude bathers, calling it an insider tip. Later comments are less positive: one visitor found no nude bathers at all over several visits in 2006, another complained that the visitors are mostly men, and one says FKK is now banned with police checks. The current situation is unclear, so be prepared to cover up.

Legal context
No official FKK designation was found. Nude bathing in the bushes north of the Einfelder Schanze beach is an informal custom reported between 2000 and 2011; one undated visitor comment says FKK has since been banned and that local police carry out checks. Parts of the lake lie in a nature reserve where bathing is restricted.
Naturism at Einfelder See sits under Germany's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
