About Cefn Sidan
Cefn Sidan is the long sand beach on Carmarthen Bay between Burry Port and Kidwelly, backed by the dunes of Pembrey Country Park. It is several miles long and very wide and flat. At high tide there is still about 10 m of sand between the sea and the dunes. In front of the country park it is a busy Blue Flag family beach with summer lifeguards. The naturist stretch is well to the west. About a mile west of beach access point CE57, just past CE59, a large crescent of rocks marks the start of the section generally accepted for nude use. From there you can walk nude for roughly another 1.5 miles to a flagpole marking the start of the RAF/MoD range section. When the tide is out, the firmer sand further from the dunes is easier to walk on. Dog walkers use the CE59 area at all times, and the beach near the park fills with families at weekends and in school holidays. The park and the council discourage nudity, and nobody should undress before the rocks. Past them, nudity has generally been tolerated, and naturists treat the long walk as part of the visit.
Getting there
Enter Pembrey Country Park and pay the vehicle entry fee at the booth. British Naturism describes it as a few pounds but gives no current price. Park near beach access CE57. Toilets and refreshments are behind the dunes at CE56. From CE57, walk west (right as you face the sea) for about a mile to the crescent of rocks past CE59. Do not go beyond the flagpole into the RAF/MoD section when the red flag is flying. It is usually open all day at weekends and after 16:30 on weekdays. The walk is long and on soft sand, so it is not suitable for wheelchairs.
What visitors say
Naturist accounts describe a huge, empty beach where you can take a long nude walk once you are past the rocks, with the best experience on weekends and weekday evenings when the MoD section is open. Several warn that undressing too early, in sight of families and dog walkers near CE59, causes complaints. The walk in is long, so people bring water. Accounts disagree on how far you need to walk, from about 20 minutes to a mile.

Legal context
Nudity is not illegal in Wales in itself, but Pembrey Country Park and Carmarthenshire Council discourage it. The park has threatened prosecution for nudity on the beach in front of it, before the rocks. A local councillor objected in 2017, but British Naturism noted no later adverse reports up to 2020. The RAF/MoD range at the west end is off limits when the flag flies.
Naturism at Cefn Sidan sits under United Kingdom's rules for traditional tolerance — custom more than statute.
