About Cala Porter
Cala'n Porter is a deep, narrow inlet on Menorca's south coast, in the municipality of Alaior, at the foot of the resort village of the same name. Two tall limestone cliffs enclose a beach of fine white sand about 120 m long and 40 m deep; the enclosure shelters the water so well that it behaves like a natural swimming pool. The cliffs on the eastern side hold the well-known Cova d'en Xoroi cave bar. The Spanish Naturist Federation includes Cala'n Porter in its list of Menorcan beaches with naturist tradition, but this is a semi-urban Blue Flag beach with sunbed rental, restaurants and water sports, heavily used by families. A 2024 article in Menorca's daily paper notes that FEN itself flags the beach as one of doubtful nudist history. In practice, nude bathing here is occasional and low-key, and visitors wanting a genuinely naturist atmosphere generally walk to Cales Coves, the next inlet west, which has a stronger tradition. There is no marked nude section.
Getting there
Drive to Cala'n Porter village via the ME-12 from Alaior or Maó. The beach is reached by a long flight of steps down from the urbanisation; there are car parks in the village, busy in summer. Seasonal buses run from Maó. Toilets and a foot-wash are on the beach. Access involves steps, so it is not wheelchair friendly.

Legal context
Nudity is not an offence on Spanish public beaches, and the Spanish Penal Code has not treated it as public indecency since 1989. A municipality can still restrict it by local ordinance. The Spanish Naturist Federation lists Cala'n Porter as a beach with naturist tradition, though the island press reported in 2024 that the federation regards its nudist history as doubtful. No signage designates a nude area (checked 2026).
Naturism at Cala Porter sits under Spain's rules for officially designated nude beaches — explicit protection inside the marked area.

Naturist status confirmed against an official source on 24 October 2026.
